Purpose
Roy Jr. and Shirley D. Kerlegan created the Roy Joseph Kerlegan III Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of their beloved son, Roy Joseph Kerlegan III. Roy Joseph Kerlegan III passed away in a motorcycle accident on March 1, 2010. Roy was a student at Georgia State University and was an active member of Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity and Campus PALS. Both organizations announced that they would provide annual scholarships to honor Roy’s memory. Through Roy's fund, annual scholarships are financed to assist students with the cost of tuition, books and fees. The funds must be used during the fall or spring semester, and cannot be used for summer courses, or housing.
